European Design Awards
The Belgrade Design Week 2013 conference ended with a grand ceremony: The prestige European Design Award took place at the iconic Yugoslav drama Theatre of the last festival day, showcasing yet another time the best of the European communication designers for 2012, in front of a sold out design-mad public from all over the world.
The European Design Leaders is a one-of-a-kind professional club of Europe’s leading communication design studios and agencies. Membership is closed and by merit only. Its purpose is to provide a valid and comprehensive index of the most creative studios and agencies of the continent. Defining who qualifies to become a member is based on a process as objective as possible.
Before that, five selected members of the European Design Leaders, one-of-a-kind professional club of Europe’s leading communication design studios and agencies, gave their lectures at the special session about graphic design at BDW’s conference at BDW conferences’ special session about European Innovation, as taster for the night’s sensations! After the grand ceremony, at midnight, all visitors and participants moved to splav Play to the famous BDW & EDA closing party!
This year the European Design Awards received a record number of submissions. A difficult task for any, but the ED-Awards jury, made up of representatives from 15 design magazines (coming from 15 different countries), is the most competent of its kind. Their decisions were officially revealed at the Award Ceremony. Among many others, Studio Dumbar from Netherlands was awarded for the project Alzheimer Netherlands in the category Brand implementation, Best of Show. Jager & Jager from Germany was awarded in the category Agency of the Year.
